Who we are
MexanikAZ is an app that gives drivers AI-assisted preliminary guidance about possible vehicle problems and helps them find and contact independent repair workshops. This policy covers the app and this website together; where a rule applies to only one of them, that is stated explicitly.
Information we collect
We collect the information needed to run the app: your account and contact details, the vehicles you save (brand, model, year, and any notes), the descriptions and photos you choose to send to the AI-assisted diagnosis feature, your appointment requests and their status, reviews you submit after a completed appointment, your notification preferences and push token, and your selected app language.
AI-assisted diagnosis data
When you describe a problem to the AI-assisted diagnosis feature, that description (and any details you add about your saved vehicle) may be sent to a third-party AI provider so it can generate informational guidance. Please do not enter sensitive personal information unrelated to your vehicle — such as ID numbers, financial details, or health information.
Saved vehicles and the optional VIN
Adding a VIN or chassis number to a saved vehicle is always optional. It is private to your account: it is never shown on any public profile and is never sent to a workshop unless a future version of the app adds that as an explicit, separate feature you choose to use.
On-device technical-passport scanning
If you use the app's camera to help fill in your vehicle's details from its technical passport, that image is processed on your device only. The photo itself is not uploaded to our servers — only the text fields you review and confirm are saved to your vehicle record.
Workshops, appointments, and reviews
When you send an appointment request, we share the details needed for that request (such as your name, contact details, vehicle information, and the reason for the visit) with the workshop you selected. After an appointment is marked complete, you may leave a review, which is shown publicly on that workshop's profile and may be moderated as described in our Review and Moderation Policy.
Notifications
If you enable push notifications, we use a device token to send you updates about your appointments, reviews, and account. You can disable notifications at any time in your device or app settings.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to run the app and website — including for authentication, database hosting, maps, push notifications, and AI-assisted diagnosis. Each provider receives only the data needed to perform its function, under its own terms.
Data retention
